Dr. Troy Pleasant grew up in Virginia and earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Virginia Tech Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia.

Dr. Pleasant's clinical interests include general gastroenterology, colorectal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and esophageal disorders. He is committed to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care with a focus on clear communication and long-term wellness.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Pleasant enjoys watching sports, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and their dog
